2:15 PM Panel Discussion: AI Driven Autonomous Driving

'Smart Driving Equalization' is one of the important topics in China's automotive market in 2025. The rate of high-level assisted driving systems in new cars is rapidly increasing this year, which is an excellent development opportunity for the advanced assisted driving industry chain. Opportunities often go hand in hand with challenges. In the face of the huge demand for front-loaded mass production and the imploding car market, how to provide cost-effective and differentiated products, and how to ensure the function landing and product quality in a shorter development cycle are all important issues for OEMs and suppliers.

Forward-looking market forecasts help car companies find breakthroughs and solve user pain points in the dynamic Chinese smart driving market. For example, the inference of large models on the car puts higher requirements on vehicle computing power, AI system interpretability can help improve user trust, multi-sensor redundancy to ensure system security, etc. are all technical trends worth discussing.

Looking at Smart Driving from a global perspective, the level of Smart Driving in Chinese cars is already ahead of the world. Against this backdrop, importing China's Smart Driving technology into the global market is an attractive new growth curve for domestic companies.

The S&P Global Mobility Autonomous Driving Roundtable will have an in-depth discussion on the market outlook and technology trends of high-level assisted driving and autonomous driving with all the distinguished guests, providing professional views and inspiration for the Chinese and global audience.

Tianran, Li- Technical Director, Intelligent Vehicle Software Division, Neusoft Group

Jingwen, Chen- Head of Cockpit Large Model Solutions, Volcano Engine

3:35 PM xEV Battery and Charging Landscape

S&P Global Mobility expect a faster move toward cell-to-pack (CTP) and cell-to-body (CTB) configurations for batteries in the EV industry, as automakers look to reduce weight and cost of manufacturing. In CTP, cells are directly mounted onto the pack housing, with no modules in between, reducing the number of components and assembly steps. Mainland Chinese cell makers such as BYD, with its Blade batteries and CATL, with its Shenxing and Qilin batteries, have been focusing heavily on CTP LFP batteries. Some European and American automakers are also looking at adopting CTP so we may see a few EV models with this tech in the next few years.

      Other presentation highlights:

      • Battery demand analysis and regional supply chain outlook
      • Charging Infrastructure
      • Most promising battery technology and trends

      • Profiting in a slowing market
      • Going global: high potential markets beyond China

      Speaker:

Cassie Liu- Senior Research Analyst II, Global Heavy Truck Research, S&P Global Mobility

4:55 PM Decoding Automotive Companies' Competitive Strategies from Financial Data

In the pursuit of building an intelligent automotive future, this presentation will leverage data to unravel the underlying logic of industry competition, extracting strategic insights from financial report numbers to provide actionable competitive intelligence and trend forecasts for the audience. The analysis will focus on the following dimensions:

      • The Fragmentation of Profit Models in Intelligent Vehicles:
Dissecting the revenue structure of leading players to reveal how the "technology faction" and the "ecosystem faction" reconstruct profit logic through software services.
      • The Life-and-Death Race of R&D Investment:
Comparing the R&D expenditure ratio of new forces with the electrification transformation costs of traditional car companies, analyzing how "intelligent infrastructure" can drain cash flow, and how "technology outsourcing" can break the deadlock.
      • Pricing and Cost Reconstruction:
Through case studies of cost reduction via technological upgrades supporting price wars and optional package premiums, decoding how car companies balance market share and profit margins with "hardware parity + software windfall."
      • The Intelligent War of Cash Reserves:
Analyzing the cash burn rate of the smart ecosystem from investment cash flow, warning of the survival crisis faced by "technologically hollowed-out" car companies, and analyzing who will exit due to "insufficient ammunition" and who will break through relying on "strategic resilience."

      Speaker:

Hui, Song- Senior Consultant, Automotive Advisory Services, S&P Global Mobility
